One Day to Go!

Well Happy New Year everybody! I hope you have great night tonight. I have been packing all day, saying goodbye to loved ones, and getting my fill of American food and the Wii. My trip has not even started yet and I am already on an adventure to make sure my bag does not go over 5o pounds. It's been quite a process...and let me just give a shout out to Space Bags! If anyone ever needed to fit four months worth of clothing into one bag, Space Bags is the way to do it.

I honestly cannot believe I leave tomorrow. I have been planning for this ever since I got to USD, and it does not quite seem real that it is finally happening.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped me financially, physically and emotionally get ready for this trip. You all know who are, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am truly grateful for everything that you have done for me, and I love you!

Now, let me brief you on what the following two days will bring...
6:15 am: out the door, picking up a coffee at Starbucks, and heading to LAX
8:00 am: arriving at LAX, saying goodbye to parents and boyfriend, and waiting in security lines for three hours.
11:05 am: On my way to Spain!
11:05-10:15 am the next day: Flying to Madrid, Spain.

Crazy two days coming up for sure! But as soon as I arrive, I am headed for the chocolateria for a hot chocolate and churro! Woo Hoo!

I hope I can communicate with all of you through this blog, or email at least. My email is : justinempierce@me.com. I am hoping to put pictures on here, leave as many posts as possible and read any comments you all wish to leave. Not that you have to of course. Anyway, good luck to everyone this first four months of 2010 and I will miss all of you more than you know! Buenos Dias y Feliz Ano Nuevo!

  1. Puffy-eyed Mom here! Justine is on her way. Glad you found that other passport photo for your international student ID. The one we took this morning would have been great though for the sympathy you would have gotten with it! Love you and can't wait until the next blog update cuz that'll mean you got there safe and sound!

  2. Hi Honey,

Mom just loaded your blog on our home computer and we watched the video from Lauren and her passport woes. Thank God for wonderful people who assisted her & that she's finally joined up with you.

You're in our prayers everyday and we'll enjoy following your adventures. This electronic age is awesome!

God bless, honey, we love you lots! G&G "B"

  3. Yeah -the blog is updated and alive again!. I LOVE the way you write. It makes me feel like I'm right there with you. Dad and I just got back from ceramics class and I got to make a bowl on the wheel my 1st night. It didn't flop over or anything. Yeah me!!!!! I had to come home though and cut all my finger nails. Finger nails and the ceramics wheel don't go together. All my 1st bowl is going to be good for is a dog water bowl. It's flat and thick around the edges but the teacher was impressed! Ours wasn't as perfect a day as yours...mostly cuz we had to work but a god day nonethelessI can't wait until the next chapter.!
